1. Mesa-Bains refers to many well-known Chicana artists, detailing their styles and methods. For example, she talks about Judith Baca who is known for The Great Wall of Los Angeles (309), and Ester Hernandez who is known for her satirical Sun Mad  image (313). How do you think today's technologies, like art-making software/applications and social media, like Instagram, have influenced or changed the Chicana art scene?
2. Perez says, "At its best, art is nothing less than philosophy and cultural theory" (10). What do you think she means by this?
3. In the film La Ofrenda: Days of the Dead, Mesa-Bains says that when you "participate in art", it's the same as "making yourself well" (37:15). She says it's about healing. What are examples of this in your life?
