Questions for Alice Bag - Haleh Mawson

First off, thanks for coming in to talk with us on Monday. I love your music, and I'm excited to actually meet you.

I'd like to ask first how you decide which language to write a song in. The bulk of your music has English or mixed lyrics but you've got some songs, like Se Cree Joven, in Spanish. A lot of punk music's power is non-verbal, but lyrics do matter, so what factors into your decision?

The other thing I've been wondering about the present and future of punk. It seems to me like hip hop and rap have to an extent supplanted punk as the protest music of choice, at least in terms of what dominates the airwaves. Is this actually the case? And whatever punk's current state is, what are your hopes for the future of the genre and subculture?
