Questions for Alice Bag - Emily Eckey

Hi Alice! My name is Emily and I'm a first year student at UW. I am excited to have the opportunity to learn about your journey of punk rock! After going through the readings I have a few questions:
  1. I felt empowered by the comparison of women to dynamite in your newest single Sister Dynamite. I was curious, what are your main sources of inspiration behind Sister Dynamite when writing “She's so tired of fragile masculinity” and other powerful lyrics?
  2. In the introductory quote of “Death to Racism and Punk Rock Revisionism” you say that part of your personality on stage goes to ‘emotional and big’ (Habell-Pallán 247). I noticed that you express this through your many outfits. How do these fashion statements contribute to your work?
Thank you!
