Questions for Alice Bag - Abby Hecko

Hi! My name is Abby Hecko and I am a freshman. I am a computer science major and want to have a carrier in engineering equitable products. I either want to make health care technology or bring technology to theses privileged.

1.  In Death to Racism and Punk Rock Revisionism, reporter Kristen McKenna defines you and your music as "a brash steamroller of aggression," (251). When creating music so emotional and aggressive, had people ever painted you as those things? In my experience when women stand up for themselves are are powerful, people call them "bitches" and feel threatened. Were there times when people close to you felt threatened by how empowered you were?

2. In your Sister Dynamite music video you compare women to dynamite in an empowering manner. You sing, "Gonna blow it up, yeah she's the TNT," to show the transformation of women from an observer to a fighter. What inspired this metaphor of dynamite? Was there someone in your life that stood up for their rights and was explosive? Did you feel like you were TNT? Where did this metaphor come from?
