- Given the current political of the United States and even the world at large, popular music has lost the political edge it had in the 70s and 80s. With musicians like Van Dyke Parks and Gaby Moreno collaborating to "condemn the family separation policy," should more musicians be lending their voice to the political ring or should mainstream music and politics remain separate (Contreras).
- The coronavirus has put the socioeconomic crisis in the United States on full display as black and Hispanic communities are afflicted disproportionately compared to their white counterparts (Tappe). In what ways could artists lend their work to comment on society besides only focusing on social media attention?
- Political figures in the United States have mostly forgotten about the arts (ignoring the current coronavirus scandal). Still, artists continue to put out content that provides cogent criticism of the status quo. Is the government obligated to consider the arguments art proposes and if so, to what extent?
- "Artivism" uses art as a form of activism. How is artivism neglected in society and what benefits would artivism on a wide scale have for communities across North America?
