Sandoval proposal of “dissident globalization” as a remedy to neoliberalism because of it’s thorough inclusion of all people rather than separation and through it’s method to recognize the importance of reading “signs”. From what I understood about Sandoval’s “dissident globalization”, there is an aspect that is inclusive to all people and encourages a movement that allow’s people of different race, gender, class, and culture to work together towards a common goal. Neoliberalism is the complete freedom for capitalism to run rampant with little regard for individuals or their circumstances. It affects people of different classes, races, cultures and genders with no compassion or respect for the people it negatively impacts. Sandoval’s proposed remedy would change the perspective the people have and would encourage people to work together which would only benefit the cause. People would recognize neoliberalism as the cause of the bigger problems because of the common situations that these united groups of people face. The Womxn Who Rock Archive embodies Sandoval’s ‘differential consciousness’ through it’s mission and inclusion of all women who make music. This archive brings together women of all races and cultures and people from different aspects of the music business to share in a common goal of empowering women in this industry and to encourage the sharing and recording of music. It also embodies a resilience practice because of the message these women musicians and artists share which usually has to do with an important movement or recognition of an issue in society. The Womxn Who Rock Archive is not only something that encourages woman to work together, but also something that helps these women sympathize with each other despite their differences which is exactly what Sandoval’s “differential consciousness” means. These women including all the people behind this project are true inspirations in social justice.
