05/26 Draft Questions - Noah Krohngold

1. How does the "SlutWalk" or "Marcha de las Putas" exhibit female empowerment in a male-dominated environment (Amor)? Is this an effective way of combatting the slut-shaming that runs rampant in rape culture?

2. Julieta Caraval describes feminists as having "traveled with [their] hopes tied up in a bundle through roads banned to women" and constantly having to occupy space designed for "respectable people" (Caraval). In what ways do society's roles for women dictate their potential and what efforts are being made today to break down these barriers for women?

3. Julieta Caraval explains how the patriarchy "recycles itself" and gives the establishment a sort of sentience in its ability to retool itself for a changing political landscape (Caraval). Describe the intersection between neoliberalism and our patriarchal society, as well as ways to combat such restrictive concepts.
