Live post 1: Teresa Bonilla

Ofelia Esparza sharing about all the different altares that she made are very interesting. We had seen a few of her altares earlier in the videos we watched and interviews but I kept wanting to see more. They are so beautiful and it’s amazing to see the process and all the different types and reasons they have created altares for.

I am including a photo of the altar for mujeres poderosas because it reminded me of my altar. Theirs was more about people who were famous she said, and mine was about women in my family, but the goal for them was the same. To honor women and the great things they have done.

I also enjoyed seeing and hearing about her collaborating with her family (and community) because I really enjoyed that aspect of the altar making.
