- Indigenous women were treated in the Andes were treated with less respect than low-class people due to the implements of the patriarchy and colonialism. Why did this occur? Is there an explanation further than pure sexism and racism?
- I can't help but think of the saying mentioned in the video at about 3:14, "...[name] is a force to be reckoned with" because I have it heard it mention both women and nature before. This common saying relates directly to what we been reading about the earth being feminine/women. Is that where this saying arose from, closely comparing nature and women?
- According to Kathy Jenkins's article on anti-mining, Ecuadorian women have the most to lose if this mine opens between the reliance on clean water, the connection to Pachamama, and their overwhelming instincts to protect the young (new generations). How can their voices be heard further, louder and clearer? Is the women resistance a serious threat to the mining company because of the deep understandings they hold within?
