1. In the video "These Women Are Saving The Amazon," at 1:33, Esperanza Martinez says "In order to function, capitalism has to, on one hand, exploit nature, but on the other hand, exploit women." What are some examples of capitalism exploiting both nature and women in the United States?
2. During Kathy Jenkins' paper "Unearthing Women's Anti-Mining Activism in the Andes," she includes quotes from women talking about their "comrades" who have been beaten and jail due to their activism efforts. Why isn't this being talked about on a larger scale? How is this treatment an example of what they are fighting? 
3. In the chapter "What Does It Mean To Be an Indigenous Women In Contemporary Times" by Luz Maria de la Torre Amaguana, it says "many times we have been criticized and discounted for not wearing normal attire as defined by the hegemonic elements of society" (83). Many indigenous women in the United States are often critizied for the opposite, some people want indigenous people to still wear traditional attire even though they are living modern lives. Why is this so? How come it differs so much between countries?
