1. Catholic people in Ecuador have a very traditional view of marriage, women should live with their family until they marry a man. How do musicians such as Caye Cayejera and Black Mama promote  ideologies that are more feminist and progressive?

2. Thinking about "Somos Mujeres Somos Hip Hop: Feminism and hip hop in Latin America",  and the idea of spaces that "are not exclusionary of men but in which men must enter female spaces, not vice versa" (336). I was wondering about this discussion with genders flipped there are many places and careers that are 'open to women' but in which they are still excluded, sometimes just in subtle ways, other times through a culture that is actively against them. How are female hiphop collectives a good example for them?

3.Why is self-determination/ self-representation so important and how does this apply to the ideas of Latino/Hispanic that we discussed at the beginning of the quarter?

4. On page 338 of "Somos Mujeres Somos Hip Hop: Feminism and hip hop in Latin America" there is the quote, “My rap isn’t feminine, but feminist”, why cant they exist simultaniously?
