Altar - Emilia Garcia-Bompadre
This is an altar to las Madres de Plaza de Mayo. These were a group of women who would meet every Thursday during the Dirty War in Argentina to demand answers from the military dictatorship about where their "disappeared" family members were. These women were one of the first activist groups demanding justice from the dictatorship, and risked their lives to not only create a community of support for others who were mourning, but also of activism, nonviolently demanding answers and change.
