1. Martha Gonzalez highlights lot of significant aspects of both the ways we are socialized to view motherhood and the importance of community/relationship (made evident in convivencia and testimonio). I found myself particularly excited by the fact that music was made in the communal space the kitchen and the dialectic made evident in the merging of family life and roles with artistic expression and music making. Im wondering if anyone else finds themselves balancing family life or just academic life with the pursuit of art?
